I am a freelance designer from Quito, Ecuador. I recently graduated from The University of Texas, where I received a bachelors degree in design. I enjoy practicing and learning about several disciplines within the realm of design. Such as, graphic or visual communications, multimedia, packaging, and product or industrial design, to name a few. Also, architecture and fashion to a degree. I tend to be on the ambitious side and I love a good challenge and having interesting constraints. My ultimate goal is to become a successful 3D animator, concept artist and an overall versatile designer.
I see design as a combination of disciplines used together to form the “optimal” iteration of a solution that will cause someone's experience to benefit from its existence. Sometimes design is forethought or anticipation at its best. Design is always about preparation, process, and presentation which can normally breakdown into form, function and context. Usually when I find myself involved in the act of designing, I am usually creating or adapting something for some specific reason. Hopefully this reason contributes to the design process by acting as a filter upon each iteration until the “optimal” one is reached. Personally, I find the most exciting designs are those that are innovative, and may cause a shift in the viewer or user’s mood, attitude, perceptions and habits when necessary. These type of designs often retain the potential to evolve into something greater than originally intended by the designer.
I have recently introduced myself to various 3D visual effects programs, while also expanding on my senior thesis. I am currently collaborating on a few freelance projects but I always welcome new work.
